Brighton, England

Brighton was one of the stranger places I’ve been. We went as a day trip from London, expecting a nice respite from the searing heat of London. We did not expect it to be foggy and cold, but I liked that. Despite the weather, the beach and the Victorian pier/amusement park were packed with people laying out and enjoying divers fried foods. The pier looked eery in the overwhelming fog, and there was a weird feeling of loneliness due to the weather–but again, the city was crowded with groups of teenage boys and hen parties. There was a also strange occidental castle hidden in the middle of a beautiful garden. We popped into a restaurant for lunch, and when we came back out, the fog had evaporated and the whole city was sparkling in the sun.
